Plate Techtonics

The mid Atlantic ridge has experienced many different types of study, and we have found that the North Pole oscillates over time. What does this mean?

  1. It means after a period of time the north and south pole switches places. We know this because the iron is attracted by magnetism. The magnetism on earth is stronger on the north pole than on the south pole. When it was discovered the iron grains in different directions back and forth over long periods of time it is assumed the poles switch places.

  2. A shifting north and south pole: Because the inside of the stripes were going different ways so that means the poles had to have changed because of the iron stripes. And the iron is attrcted to the magnetism.

  3. They are saying that one pole has more or a magnetic field than the other. That is causing the earth to rotate. This is causing the plates to move around. At this rate we are getting 50 acres of land each year.

  5. At some point we believe the north and south poles switch places, because the iron is attracted to the magnetism. the magnetism is stronger on one pole more than the other. The magnetism on the north pole is stronger than on the south pole. The magnetism causes the earth to rotate and also causes the plates to move around.
